OUR MEMBER GROUPS
Volunteer Marine Rescue groups
Each year, Volunteer Marine Rescue Western Australia (VMRWA) member groups respond to hundreds of incidents. Many are routine tasks such as tows and assists but many others involve serious boating accidents where lives would have been lost had an intervention not been made.
Every Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) group located in Western Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a volunteer service to the communities in which they reside. Our member groups could not survive without the talented and experienced volunteers who give their time to help and rescue people in need.
To date, we represent 37 member groups and more than 1,400 volunteers combined.
Member group training opportunities
Our member groups ensure the efforts of their volunteers do not go unrecognised. Each provides many opportunities for training and advancement.
As a marine rescue volunteer, you will:

Take part in regular training programs to keep your skills sharp

Respond to and provide support during marine rescue incidents

Assist other organisations by providing on-water events support

Assist with fundraising events to keep your member group going.
